Mt. Baohua National Forest Park is located in Jurong city in the middle of the territory of the mountains of Jiangsu Province, it’s surrounded by low mountains and east-west mountain. It covers about1767hm and belongs to Northern subtropical monsoon climate zone in central. It is rich in plant species. The Nature Reserve is typical of the flora as evergreen and deciduous broadleaved mixed forest nature reserve, and the Nature Reserve is one of the seven in Jiangsu Province.Which based on the more2500samples、more than4000sheets of pictures collected in the several thorough investigations and surveys on the vascular plant of Mt. Baohua from September,2008to October,2010. This paper discusses and analyzes the floristic composition of the vascular plant in Mt.Baohua, floristic characteristics and the relations with its circumferential floras, on this basis, and the vegetation. The specific results are as follows:1. Mt. Baohua has1232species(including grades of lower species and the cultivated plants), belonging to642genus in168families, among which there are57species of ferns belonging to35genus in26families,21species of gymnospermae plant belonging to14genus in7families and1154species of angiospermae plant belonging to593genus in135families. Dieotyledoneae plant has881species in456genus of114families and monocotyledoneae plant covers273species in137genus of21families. According to plants characters, there are357species of xylophyta,807species of herb, and68species of climbing plant.2. The large families and large genus of the vascular plant flora are a smaller proportion of the total number. The dominant position belongs to the small genera small families. The endemism within the flora are poor, and there are some ancient origin in the flora of Mt.Jurong. It is not the distribution center and differentiation center of modem vascular plants.3. The floristic elements of Mt.Baohua are complex, The flora belongs to subregion of Loess Plateau, and it is closely related to China-Japan flora、East China flora and Central China flora. From the points of the floristic elements of seed plants, in the flora, the total of142families can be divided into11types and8subtypes; the total607genus can be divided into15types and9subtypes.Family, genus distribution types flora tropical and temperate elements, and the pan-tropical distribution and the majority of the north temperate are Majority. Subtropical elements are greater. Distribution of many plant distribution has been achieved or closed to the northern boundary. But the distribution of some species has reached or closed to the southern boundary. The flora has a transition characteristics of tropical and temperated to subtropical Mediterranean, which also has a smaller number of components appear.4.Which Mt.Baohua compared with adjacent areas shows:Mt.Baohua is greater similarity to Mt.Zijin and Mt.Qixia and they have near-source relationship. But with the smaller similarity to Tieshan Temple of Xuyi and Yixing of Jiangsu Province; with the smallest similarity to Mt.Yuntai in Lian Yungang. This is consistent with their geographical location.5.The vegetation of Mt.Baohua belongs to the typical northern subtropical evergreen and deciduous broadleaved mixed forest vegetation zone. Mainly retained in the Nature Reserve of Mt.Baohua. From the9surveyed communities can be seen. Now the flroa mainly composes by evergreen and deciduous broadleaf forest, evergreen broadleaf forest, deciduous broadleaf forest, coniferous forest, Camellia oleifera-Quercus variabilis forest, bamboo broadleaf forest, etc. The species diversity index of vegetation types are quite different. Finally, discusses and proposes some strategies of the vegetation restoration and management.
