In order to solve bottleneck problem of energy supply and relieve environmental pressure, every country in the world all seek the renewable energy. The ocean energy, which is known as "blue oilfield", has increasingly been drawn wide attention by human beings for its huge energy storage and renewable capability.Wave energy, which is one of the most abundant ocean energy in reserves, has been best studied recently on the utilization research of ocean energy. Various utilization deveices of wave power emerge in an endless stream. The oscillating buoy wave power device has been developed newly for its high efficiency and reliability. How to improve the energy conversion efficiency and the offshore survivability of this device are special important to realize using wave power instead of partial conventional energy. Aiming at the first energy conversion of oscillating buoy wave power device, a new system of using aligned array buoys to absorb wave energy was put forward in this paper and carried out research as follows:(1) The wave power device, using aligned array buoys system as the first energy conversion, was designed preliminarily. The composition and principle of this device were introduced simply and the key problems of buoy system were proposed.(2) The mathematical models of energy conversion of this buoy system, containing the energy absorption and the average absorbed power from wave of buoy, the energy conversion efficiency and the average output power of the whole buoy system, were derived with the theories of ocean wave and hydrodynamic.(3) The parameters, which may affect energy conversion of buoy system, were analyzed by the programming calculation with Matlab and Excel software. And with the optimal parameters, the energy conversion and the average output power of buoy system were calculated. Then the performance of offshore survivability of buoy system was specially analyzed.(4) According to the progress of project, the proceeding design of test platform and content of experimental study were simply introduced. Using the mutual verification with the combination of experimental study and theoretical research, the aligned array buoy system will obtain optimization design.
