Nowadays the increasing consumption of fossil fuel drives people to lookfor new alternative energy resource. Wave energy as an abundant renewablegreen energy is attached greater importance to, and has been studying all overthe world. It has been approaching a practical level by accumulated technologyfor many years, and showed unique superiority and vitality particularly in someisland and offshore facilities that lack of conventional energy. Aiming at theenergy capture mechanism of oscillating buoy wave power device, using gyrofloater to absorb wave energy was put forward in this paper and carried outresearch as follows:First of all, we illustrated research background, research significance andresearch situation at home and abroad comprehensively in this paper,furthermore, pointed out possible exist problems of wave energy and itsdevelopment trend.Secondly,we briefly introduced the composition and classification of waveenergy, reviewed some of the existing problems in an attempt to propose anon-powered catamaran as the carrier of the marine power test platform.Concurrently, described the overall composition of the platform. This paperconcentrated on the principles of double floating-body wave energy devicesworks and energy conversion, analyzed detail various components of the waveenergy devices, and put forward the key technology of wave energy device, tolay a foundation of the following simulation and analysis.Then,based on micro-Amplitude wave theory and potential function oftranslator wave, some related mathematical expression has been derived.According to Froude-Krylov Assumption methodology, it made a stress analysisof common float and introduces a conical float, put forward using gyro floater asenergy capture mechanism which is formed by the combination of cylinder andcone. In order to verify the rationality of gyro floater, we establishedmathematical model of the device, by the tool of Workbench, started from three aspects including the floater’s adaptability, power characteristics and efficiencyunder the impact of waves, and then used fluid-solid coupling analysis fordifferent shapes of floater. Taken together, our results suggest that using gyrofloaters a test platform as wave energy capture mechanism is reasonable.Meanwhile we provided a certain basis for the specific selection of gyro floaterby analyzing gyro floater from5aspects.Finally,we firstly explained briefly the main structural design of the entiretest platform. In order to validate the theoretical model and the simulation model,relative motion type wave energy capture and experimental device was applied.For another, three bionics floaters with flexible structure were designed andtested, to further improve the anti-wave performance of the floater, which mighthave implications for the design of wave energy device prototype and upcomingsea trials.
