In recent years, geographic information technologies in the electric power industry has been widely used, far more and more power users of the system has been established and put into operation in GIS (geographic information system), GIS in reducing the cost of maintaining information to improve the grid operatorsmanagement capability and flexibility of information sharing advantages are gradually being recognized. A powerful and effective GIS system, for improving the visualization of production efficiency and economic benefits of the power companies will play a huge role in promoting. This article will focus on the depth of GIS systems in the core functional modules-spatial data management module. This paper described the GIS spatial data management module in the area of research situation and development trend analysis of the advantages and disadvantages compared to several of the industry mainstream in today’s GIS spatial data management, an improved object-oriented component-based-relational data model, spatial database management model, a detailed design based on object-oriented spatial data model components, and its meaning, characteristics and advantages of the analysis shows that, on this basis, combined with the power system functional requirements, increaseadapted to the power industry components of the space topology and related properties of electricity, using software engineering methods, spatial data management module division, carried out a detailed design of each sub-module. Finally, a brief talk about how using the Eclipse the CDT (C,++) and the QT plug-in the platform development environment oracle relational database (the Oracle Spatial,) as a spatial data storage carrier, combined with the industry mainstream of the OGC standard protocol, a simple coding simulation to achieve distribution, cross-platform SDE (spatial Data Engine) subsystem.
