With the more attention of Rapid change of geological environment or disaster, this unforeseen change has the very broad and deep impact on the social. Mining as amore intense human activities, has caused a series of mining environmental problems, such as subsidence, ground fissures, land use, etc. This is not only a threat to people’slives and property but also seriously affect and constrain economic development.Mine geological environment monitoring and evaluation is an important measure toensure the sustainable development of the mining area. The rapid development ofremote sensing and geographic information systems can provide for mineenvironmental assessment of new technology and more accurate evaluation.TaEr Mountain has many iron mines in Lin Fen City. The area has a large numberof tailings, waste rock pile, the occurrence of severe geological disasters.Environmental issues are very serious. From2010to2011the author has study onTaEr Mountain in the project of Shanxi’s primarily mine remote sensing survey andmonitoring. The paper comes from Major geological study of environmental problemsfrom mine development (underground and open-air). Accomplished the IKONOS-2image and DEM data as the main source of information, it can improve remotesensing images of the target image feature. Remote sensing image have extract theinformation of mining, vegetation, geological disasters. At last I produce a geologicaldisaster maps. With the appropriate field validation obtain satisfactory results. Finallybased on the mine geological environment type, characteristics and distribution, Iestablish the mining areas of geological hazard evaluation system, program minegeological hazard zoning, analyze the condition of mine geological environment. In this paper, the research results obtained:(1) Applied the IKONOS-2image as the main source of information to extractgeological hazards in the spectral analysis based on the use of images, and mastered amethod to extract geological hazards. It improves the understanding of translationaccuracy. With the appropriate field validation the research obtain the desired results.(2) Based of the DEM data the research analysis the tailings of TaEr Mountain, solid waste characteristics, to establish a model suitable for the tailing pond at theterrain, to calculate the volume of the tailings though the way of the three surface fitting. The method has a certain degree of accuracy, and it is a complement for theremote sensing technology of the mine geological environment.(3) Based on the seven influencing factors of the vegetation, geological structure, rock, rainfall, underground mining intensity, topography, waste and tailings repositoryit establish mining areas of geological hazard evaluation system. Using the AnalyticHierarchy Process (AHP) calculate the index weight of each attribute. Based on GISspatial operation I obtain the mine geological hazard zoning map. Finally, accordingto interpret the results and the field survey results, analysis of the status of the minegeological environment support for management planning of the mine geologicalenvironment.
