Developing and using new energy sources becomes of great importance and ocean contains largevolume of energy. China’s long coastline and rich in marine resources make China need to do moreabout ocean energy. The article focuses on wave energy of the ocean. After analyzing thecharacteristics of ocean wave and different wave power converters, the author suggested a distinctwave power converter in snake-shape. The converter based on Faraday’s law of electromagneticinduction.Snake-shape wave energy collection system is simple, did not require complex mechanical body. Thesystem could adapt wave well, and did not require stationary unit, so that could be arranged in thecoastal sea area or near the beach. System energy output in the form of voltage could be convenientlyprocessed and transformed. With engineering theory of wave mechanics, the paper analyses ocean wave model. And usingobservatory data from Shengshan near Zhoushan Islands, the paper established a mathematical modelof the East China Sea which supported the detail design of Snake-shape wave energy collectionsystem. Using software ANSYS analyzed2D model of the system. And get the optimized structurefinally.Using ANSYS analyzed3D model of optimized structure, and calculated the efficiency of the system. Then designed processing and transmission of electric energy. In the end made a small model forexperiments, confirmed the feasibility of the system, and made a summary of the shortcomings of thesystem to indicate the direction of continuing research.
