Research On The Tianjin Port And The Development Of Port Container Logistics

The topic of the thesis is based on the development of port and container logistics in Tianjin Port and the definition of the function of Tianjin Port by CPC Tianjin Committee and Tianjin Municipal Government. The writer tries to research the development of Tianjin Port and business of container logistics directed by SWOT theory, provides the theoretical direction to the development of container logistics in Tianjin Port, and shows the development method of Tianjin Port and logistic development considering the operation of container terminals in Tianjin Port.Chapter One The writer clarified the background and meaning of the research firstly, reviewed the relevant Chinese and foreign thesis about logistic development, set up the study frame and content of the article, and expounded the research ways and innovative points.Chapter Two The writer introduced two leading Chinese port operators and the development of two ports of Shanghai and Shenzhen; studied two foreign ports of Singapore and Rotterdam, and indicated that the development experiences of foreign advanced ports can instruct the development of Tianjin Port.Chapter Three The writer analyzed the development condition, software and hardware capacity, operation condition of container terminals in Tianjin Port, and indicated the shortcomings of function of Tianjin Port and analyzed the present situation. The writer used the SWOT theory to study the advantage, shortage, opportunity and challenge of container logistics business of Tianjin Port. After analysis, the writer thought the main advantages of container logistics in Tianjin Port are hinterland advantage, function advantage, policy advantage and location advantage; the main shortages are unsatisfied geographical location, development of port logistics, competitive pressure, lower IT level and less special talent; the opportunities are national policy support, Chinese economic development and recognition of container logistics by cargo owners; and the main challenges are strong negotiation ability of liners, severe competition in hinterland, homogeneous competition and unclear policy of customs.Chapter Four The writer studied the container hinterland of Tianjin Port and import-export cargo composition, raised some suggestion for hinterland development of Tianjin Port:1. increase the software and hardware capacity of the port;2. optimize the port environment;3. optimize transport passage;4. use the advantages of policy and East Free Trade Port Area, and analyze the development plan and throughput situation of Tianjin Port.Chapter Five The paper pointed out some suggestions for the development of Tianjin Port. The key development areas and countermeasures were given out.Chapter Six The writer analyzed the article and made conclusion. Although Tianjin Port is facing competition and challenge from neighboring ports, the advantage is still very clear relying its rich experience, skilled operation, completed services and high quality all round service level. But how to further expand the development space and strengthen service efficiency is very urgent. The authorities and companies of Tianjin Port should look forward to develop and strengthen the container logistics and develop Tianjin Port to be the northern international shipping center consists of cargo, capital, technology and information.
