Based On The Fourth Generation Port Of Dalian Port Container Logistics Strategy Development Study

With the rapid and integrated development of economic globalization, the port is playing an increasingly important role in the world container production chain and also in the international container transportation industry. At the same time, the competition among the ports in the world is becoming more and more intense. The container logistic system of Dalian port has the unique resources to develop the port logistic services, but at the same time, it also faces the same serious challenges. How to follow the modern port’s logistic developing overall trend, how to respond to the opportunities and challenges, how to plan the port container logistic development with a strategic vision, how to optimize the original function and how to provide more value-added services and extend the functionality, these all questions are becoming the important issues need to be resolved and promotion by Dalian port. The forth general port has the specific characteristics of differentiation, excelsior and agility. Based on the fourth generation port theory and referenced to the advanced experiences of foreign large-scale ports which had transformed to the fourth generation port, by combining these to select the developing method of Dalian port container logistics services, It is an inevitable choice for Dalian port in this increasingly competitive situation. Therefore it is essential for Dalian port to seek on the development strategy of container logistics. Therefore this research has a certain practical significance and a research value.Firstly, this dissertation has performed a detailed analysis to Dalian port external environment, including the government incentive policy, the economic status of the port hinterland and also the future influence of port technical environment changes on the port infrastructure; Basing on the clarity of the external environment analysis, the dissertation has also researched on an in-depth analysis to the internal environment of Dalian port container business. Through the analysis to the development of Dalian port and also the container terminal, the analysis to the existing ship route to other country in the world, and the analysis to the port container throughput historical data, it has pave the foundation for the next Dalian port container logistics development strategy making. And then perform the horizontal comparative analysis to Dalian container terminal and the foreign advanced large-scale container terminal, to find the development direction of the port fourth generation container logistic. After that, this dissertation has predicted the future developing trend of container throughput capacity by using the support vector machine prediction model. By considering all these analyses and developing trend prediction, this dissertation has worked out the development principle, orientation, targets and also proposed the effective implementation measures to Dalian port container logistics development strategy.
