The evolvement of container port system is the result of interaction of different port ranges and different ports in these port ranges in certain area. With the adoption of container transportation technology, it's development demonstrates dynamic and staggered characteristics. As the pivot link of the comprehensive transportation and the main platforms of the modern logistics service industry, the effect produced with the container ports development is mainly shown as: First, with the construction and development of ports, factors of production have been acticated, and in this course, the port cities developed rapidly; Secondly, the development of ports exerts a deep influence to urban space shape, social economy, etc. It has become an important guarantee for the sustainable development of regional economy. As the front area of participating the international market competition and opening to the outside world, the Changjiang River Delta has already become the integrated new developing growth pole and the base of manufacturing industry in the coastal area. The container port range has exerted an important influence on the economic development. However, the competition among this regional ports is fierce for a long time, and this has weakened the whole competitiveness of the port system seriously. These all have produced different effects to every city's development. It has become an urgent problem that how to combine the regional container ports resources, hold the evolvement of the trend correctly, and analyze the difference of city-port interactive development. In this paper, the author firstly makes a systematic exposition of the relevant theory. Then integrated research is used to study the evolvement of container ports system and it's effects. The main conclusion of this paper is following:1. The first chapter systematically looks back the progress of relevant fields in the domestic and international from 1970. Through studying, we find that there are obvious gap between the two.
