The power has been integrated into various areas of modern society, science and technology, military, medical, education and daily life, increase in dependence on electricity as the whole society, people are increasingly concerned about the electricity supply and electricity reliability, and made a higher requirements. Economic construction and urban development needs power support, but at the same time inevitably will affect or restrict the power grid development and construction. In this paper, through the strategic management theoretical knowledge, to develop for the Chuxiong grid development strategy in solving practical problems in a certain reference value.The paper first described the domestic power industry environment using Porter's five forces model and the PEST analysis, the external environment facing the domestic power industry characteristics and Chuxiong grid analysis, pointing out the opportunities and threats facing. Secondly, the internal environment from Chuxiong Power Supply Bureau management system, capital, technology. Power Supply Bureau of Chuxiong analysis, pointed out the advantages and disadvantages. Then, through the analysis of the future development trend of Chuxiong, Chuxiong demand for electricity in the next five years, predicted on the inevitability of a the Chuxiong grid leapfrog development, and identified through the SWOT analysis method suitable for the actual situation of the Chuxiong grid development strategy. Finally. In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the Chuxiong grid development strategy, targeted policy support, funding, human resources and security aspects of the strategic countermeasures.
