In order to fully implement the intensive management requirements on electric maintenance materials, quickly construct a scientific supply chain management system and effectively improve the supply chain performance in State Grid, the National State Grid ran a pilot in Zhejiang Electric Power Corporation and established a two-echelon inventory system of electric maintenance materials in whole province. In the face of high inventory level caused by unreasonable inventory control strategy in Zhejiang Electronic Power Corporation, establishing a scientific and optimal inventory control strategy has become a research focus in the field of inventory control and optimization of electronic maintenance materials.This paper studies the inventory control strategy of electric maintenance materials based on multi-echelon inventory. First, through review of previous researches about the inventory management under supply chain context, this paper proposed a supply chain inventory management mode—multi-echelon inventory control and optimization according to the characteristics of electric maintenance materials. Second, considering the basic idea of multi-echelon inventory control and optimization, this article constructs a general central inventory-turnover inventory model of electric maintenance materials. Meanwhile, considering the types and characteristics of these materials, this paper proposed different optimal models according to different inventory control methods of central inventories and turnover inventories under the the key constraints——service levels of inventories. Then, based on classification model of electric maintenance materials, this paper solve the optimal solutions of different cost optimization models under different inventory contral methods and different types of electric maintenance materials by using Genetic Algorithm. Finally, by comparing the the optimal solutions of different cost optimization models, this paper concludes and designs the most optimal inventory strategy of electric maintenance materials.The results show that the best inventory strategy of important electric maintenance materials is central inventory (R,S)-turnover inventory (s, Q) strategy, because comparing previous strategy, the best strategy make the whole supply chain costs decrease by 27'.77%. And the best inventory strategy of normal electric maintenance materials is central inventory (s,Q)-turnover inventory (s, Q) strategy, for the whole costs decrease by 31.85%. The conclusion of this study not only achives a optimal supply chain cost under high service level, but also provides practical guide and reference to managers to design a best management strategy of multi-inventory.
