A Study On City Commercial Banks Counter Business Process Reengineering

Recently, China's banking service industry has entered a new phase, and competition among commercial banks undergoing significant changes, the banking industry is facing more complex business environment and increasing operating pressure. Because of the homogeneity of business products, different business processes become a major factor in the competition among commercial banks. It affects the quality of commercial banking products and services. Counter service is the basis for the entire commercial bank and its operating system is one of core systems. Therefore, reengineering of the counter business process becomes a core task. Since 2004, china's commercial banks have started business process reengineering, which considered as a breakthrough. With rapid expansion in recent years, the problem of internal management in city commercial banks has been gradually exposed, and because of the open market, its local competitive advantage becomes gradually weakened. By its strategic positioning, size, talent and technical constraints, in the face of the competition from state-owned commercial banks, national joint-stock commercial banks and foreign banks, business process reengineering based on their strategic positioning in city commercial banks is particularly important and urgent, while the counter business process reengineering as a basic work, is affronted firstly.Firstly, this paper presents the background and significance of the research, expounds the theory of business process reengineering related research, and introduces the current situation of domestic commercial banks business process reengineering. Secondly, from the external business environment and internal operational, it describes the necessity of city commercial bank counter business process reengineering, and proposes city commercial banks should establish a business processing center as the core, a "small front" to focus on sales and service. Thirdly, according to city commercial banks operating conditions and market positioning, it provides the program of city commercial banks counter business process reengineering. Anyway, with the process reengineering theory, this article is trying to explore process reengineering methods for China's city commercial banks, which will promote city commercial banks gradually to modern banks.
