Forestry is one of strategically important industries in national economy, and it takes on great responsibility for ecological and economic construction. Forestry scientific and technological extension has to be done to rapidly and healthily develop modern forestry. Currently, the general level in forestry scientific and technological extension whose quantity and quality significantly confine the promotion of forestry science and technology hasn't kept in line with the development of modern forestry. Universities of forestry and agriculture are the main sources to cultivate high-caliber personnel, who will become the major force in forestry scientific and technological extension. This article aims at an innovation research of undergraduate cultivation mechanism based on talent strategy of forestry scientific and technological extension. High level personnel with innovation skills and extension theories will serve the talent strategy in popularizing forestry science and technology. It sets a good theoretical and practical example and reference to enrich and strengthen reserve of talents, boost its overall level in forestry science and technology extension in order to facilitate a rapid and nice development in forestry.Forestry discipline in undergraduate-level was selected for the main study. The investigation and analysis are carried out with all kinds of objects and cases by using empirical research methods. An innovation research of undergraduate cultivation mechanism based on talent strategy of forestry scientific and technological extension is conducted through a questionnaire on the current situation of the forestry science and technology extension team.1. An explanation of practical talent demand and responsibility in forestry scientific and technological extension in accordance with modern forestry development by epitomizing concepts of forestry, forestry, forestry scientific and technological extension and its talents.2. An introduction to forestry discipline in the undergraduate level in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University(FAFU).A statistics of student-enrollment and graduate employment situation is carried out through a questionnaire and case studies. The student-enrollment status includes places, genders, scores on university entrance exams, family finance, and basic situations on university campus. The employment shows the initial and developing status.3. A comprehensive analysis on the factor influencing talent training quality in forestry scientific and technological extension is set forth according to survey data in respect to soft environments, such as student sources, academic performances, employment, forestry discipline construction, talent reserve in forestry scientific and technological extension and tangible environments as well, such as constructions on university, college and basic-level of forestry scientific and technological extension.4. A study based on the forestry undergraduate major focusing on the innovative cultivation mechanism of talents in forestry scientific and technological extension using three mechanism innovations:(1)cultivation, including modes of talent training, student enrollment, teaching team, teaching quality management system, employment, campus culture;(2)motivation, which is spiritual and material;(3)safeguard, which contains systems and environments.Through the analysis and investigation on the graduate major of forestry in Fujian agriculture and forestry university, this article offers proposals to the innovation on undergraduates intellectual mechanism in the forestry technology popularizing talent strategy in the both view of theory and practice.
