Comparative Study On Economic Welfare Level Of Residents Between Fujian And Zhejiang Province

Nowadays China has ushered in a new stage of building a well-off society. As The basic consideration, final aim and sustained impetus of economic development, livelihood issues have been drawn great attention by governments at all levels. How to make people live better has been the important working policy for governments at all levels.To promote economic welfare level of residents is a common aspiration of people from all over the country, which embodies the "people foremost" thought of scientific outlook on development. In comparison with Zhejiang Province, the terrain, climate and economy of Fujian Province bear many similarities to those of Zhejiang Province. However, with respect to economic aggregate, residential income, household consumption and social security, the huge gap between them is obvious.There is no doubt that the objective cognition on the situation of household welfare including the advantages and disadvantages is bound to have great significance in enhancing household economic welfare level and constructing harmonious socialist society.Guided by the theory of scientific outlook on development, this paper attempts to build a evaluation index system involves one grade index of income level, consumption level and welfare level, altogether twenty specific indexes. With the help of SPSS18.0 software, the comparative research is conducted among twenty cities of Fujian and Zhejiang Province by the approach of factor analysis. The results revealed that the gross economic welfare level of Fujian Province is lower than that of Zhejiang province. The factors of living guarantee, consumption and livelihood have considerable effect on economic welfare level of residents. The analysis on the causes of existent gap of economic welfare level of residents between Fujian and Zhejiang Province is also presented with the empirical results. Finally the suggestive countermeasures are further put forward for the purpose of improving economic welfare level of residents.
