As we all know, conflicts cannot be avoided in projects. Nowadays, China manufacturing industry develops rapidly with lager dimension. China becomes world factory and one important manufacturing and export country of electronics products. With economy globalization, the complexity of project technology and management leads to the increase of conflict quantity and degree. Therefore, traditional conflict management method cannot meet the demands of new product development projects now. Electronic companies are eager to use modern management method for reforming themselves.Company D is a leader company in switching mode power supply industry. Power supply is one kind of traditional electronic products. Each project development is the organization involving many departments, which interact with each other to meet project targets. Author of this thesis has taken part in several projects of power supply development in Company D for many years and finds that project conflicts are mainly caused by schedule, human resource, engineering technology, project cost, item priority, executive procedure and personality because of large numbers of relevant subject units involved in the projects and their complicate relations. On these occasions, conflict management is a key to success of power supply development.This thesis analyzes the conflicts during the whole project life cycle and summarizes the root causes of these project conflicts. According to modern conflict management theory and the characteristics of power supply development, this thesis raises the conflict management process of power supply development.Based on the analysis being done above, this thesis raises conflict management strategies, including preventing and resolving conflicts as well as developing positive conflicts. Preventing conflict strategy suggests paying attention to potential conflicts, making sound conflict-preventing environment, making up prevent policy and process. Resolving conflict strategy is the process to recognize and address the issues, make up plan, take actions and provide feedback. Developing conflict strategy is suitable for instructive conflict in order to enhance energy of project team.The conflict management strategies provided in this thesis are applied to practical projects and are proved they can improve projects performance. The research results on conflict management of power supply development will offer some references for project manager on other project conflict management.
