Research On The Operation Reference Model Of Ready-Mixed Concrete Construction Supply Chain

Construction supply chain management is a new research field. And ready-mixed concrete supply chain could incarnate construction supply chain mostly. It's great value of depicting the structure of the ready-mixed concrete supply chain and evaluating the performance of its operations for the project owners and the general contractor. But few works on construction supply chain's performance evaluation has been ever done.A universal ready-mixed concrete construction supply chain operations reference model was proposed in the form of SCOR model with the background of Constructions of large hydropower project in this paper. Some basic components were contained in this model, such as plan, source, make, deliver, construction, return and abandon. These components had been defined its detailed process. Based on this model, operations processes of ready-mixed concrete construction supply chain were discussed in this paper. And a set of evaluation indicators was proposed based on ready-mixed concrete construction supply chain operations reference model, which consists of five parts, such as reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost and asset management and all parts had its sub-indicators. An example of hydropower development of Yalong River with the supply chain project showed the principle of ready-mixed concrete supply chain performance, and a part of the indicators was calculated and relevance of their index value was analyzed. It was shown that using the index system can reflect the operation of the supply chain.The operations reference model could help project owners or project contractor to build up a ready-mixed concrete construction supply chain. The evaluation indicator system can be used to assess the real time situation of supply chain so as to adjust operations in supply chain.
