Supply chain management as a new form of business competition has been highly recognized by many companies. And supplier management is the headstream of supply chain management, the prerequisite of production organization, the key link of enterprises to enhance their competitiveness, the efficient market-related value-added process. Supplier management truly reflects the ability of corporate strategy development. Only companies having unique core competencies are able to take a more dominant position in fierce market competition. Suppliers play an important role in the supply chain. Thus the supplier management has been paid widespread attention. Integration of the global economy requires companies to adopt global strategies, to carry out international purchasing operations. As a foreign wind turbine manufacturer, Company G is actively carrying out a global procurement strategy under supply chain. It is intently to establish win-win partnership with parts suppliers.This research of this thesis is based on Company G's global procurement tactics. It addresses supplier management strategy according to the following steps.First, the thesis reviews supplier management theory and methods, especially in the field of wind power industry including supplier selection. It studies the supplier's selection and evaluation norm to support global procurement strategy. Then it makes a comprehensive comparison between the traditional supplier relationships and supply chain partnership. It discusses how to build an integrative and multi-stage suppliers'evaluation system.Secondly, this thesis describes the characteristics of wind turbine manufacturing industry's supply chain, analyzes China wind turbine industry supply chain's current situation and development trend. It analyzes the investment and operation of wind power competitive structure and proposes to the wind turbine manufacturing industry on how to deal with the future competition situation.Thirdly, based on supplier's resource market analysis and supplier selection and development, the thesis analyzes on Company G's supplier management current situation, and presents the improvement strategy. It discusses the procedure and method of Company G's global procurement supply chain management, including the Company G's supplier selection and development process, the quality control of supplier production process, Company G's supplier quality management audit. An example of how to develop gearbox supplier by Company G is given. Finally, the results of Company G's supply business management are validated.
