The Application Of Lean Production In Emerson

This thesis introduces the theory and improvement method of Lean Production, JIT( Just In Time) is basic requirement of Lean production, namely the production of the goods customer needs only in right time, with right quantity and quality.There are 3 foundation elements to practice JIT. They are Continuous Flow and One Piece Flow, the Pull System and the Takt Time management, and these 3 elements will run through the whole Lean Production. And at the same time this thesis introduces the KaiZen and Cell Design knowledge, to increase productivity of production line. This thesis addresses eight kinds of waste in production line, and sets up the target and continue improve process to elimination of waste to realize the Lean Production. At last it thesis brings up the knowledge of 5S+1, the 5S+1 management is the basic of lean production, and the basic of safety and quality assurance.Then afterwards, the thesis sums up the personal experiences of Lean Production, and introduce how to implement the Lean Production idea in production area. Basically there are four steps to go, the collection of existing states, the programming of future plans, the constitution of plans, and the execution of plans.In the end, the thesis introduce how to implement lean production in writer's plant, as the usage of Takt Time tracking process, the Kan Ban process and IPK application, operator work position management, operator skill extend and Cell Design to increase productivity and reduce WIP and inventory.
