With the integration of the globale economy, rapid growth consumption of the global information producets and electronic producet s in recent years, more and more intemational companies establish their manufacturing factory in China to satisfy the Asian market and reduce their overall operating costs. As the leader of international magnet electronic producet company, Pulse companey has set up 6 branch factories in China and the total head count reaches to 30,000. But with the intense competition of electronic and computer producets company, and the pressure of both more lower profiit and diversification, individualized consumption demand, especially with the influence of global economic crisis, the traditional production system can not meet the requirements of changing manufacturing environment and it shoud be innovated and instead by another brand-new production system. Lean thinking can help to improve customer's satisfaction, production flexibility, work efficiency, quality, employee's morale and reduce inventory, shorten lead time with more little resources, and it is a good way for most of electronic producet companies to develop and improve themselves by potential excavation (wastes reduction).Firstly, this paper introduces the generatation, development, characteristic, advantage of Lean Production System and the lean thinking theoretical framework briefly.Secondly, with the anaysis of Pulse actual production situation, this paper show the problems that should be improvemented and point out the necessity and feasibility of LPS promotion;Third, according to Pulse's actual situation, this paper draws the companey's current value map base on the production data collected in workshop, analyse and identify the"wastes"with the tool of VSM and then draws the future value map and make the detail schedule of improvement projcets.Fourth, base on the Lean thiking principle, this paper show detailedly some improvements with lean tools and IE techniques through the examples of SP2 product and Kent-winding machine, there are including:â‘ how to relayout and design cell line to simplify work process and reduce transportation;â‘¡how to use lean tools and IE technique to eliminate bottleneck, reblance the line and improve productivity;â‘¢how to design and setup Kanban system in order to reduce inventory cost and fast respond to customer requirement;â‘£how to use SMED tool to shorten change over time and support smooth production.As the result of Lean Production System introduction and promotion in Pulse companey, there are so many improvements including: space saving 90 square meters, transportation saving 1450 meters, operators saving 32, productivity increase 15%, inventory reduction 850000, lead time shorten 9.07 days, OEE improvement 9%, and the total cost saving 947134 dollars every year.This paper is the summarizeed from the actual lean journey of Pulse companey and all the experience is theoretically valuable and available to the similar enterprises, it also shows the way to become a lean companey.
