Study On Industrial Competitiveness Of Hebei's Equipment Manufacturing

With the establishment of a modern industrial system in Hebei Province, equipment manufacturing industry plays more important action in Hebei's manufacturing industry. After many years of development, many technologies of Hebei's equipment manufacturing industry have reached the world's advanced level. With the help of themselves superiority, a lots of the enterprises seize the opportunity to join in international economic cooperation and competition, and have formed a region center including Baoding, Shijiazhuang and Qintangcang together with the unique star enterprises and brand-name enterprises with Baoding Tianwei, The Great Wall Motors and Sinosteel XTMMC as representatives. In Hebei Province, equipment manufacturing industry is becoming a pillar industry after the steel industry.Firstly, the thesis illustrates in detail and comments on the various theories or research fruits in fields of industrial competitiveness and equipment manufacturing industry at home and abroad, especially the theories of four aspects: the impact of factors of industrial competitiveness, the evaluation of industrial competitiveness, connotation of the domestic equipment manufacturing industry, and study on equipment manufacturing competitiveness. Then, it analyzes the development of Hebei's equipment manufacuring industry in the following fields: the scale of strength, speed of development, and industrial structures etc. , with the actual situation of Hebei Province, use human resources, capital, technology and other aspects as a qualitative method for the analysis of industrial competitiveness of Hebei's equipment manufacturing. Next, as to qualitative analysis, the paper adopts two methods—Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCA) and Principal Component Analysis method(PCA)—to fulfill the industrial competitiveness analysis. The conclusion of quantitative analysis is that the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing is the most powerful sub-industry among seven sub-industries of Hebei's equipment manufacturing in both terms of comparative advantage and competitive advantage. In the following parts, combining the conclusions of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the paper puts forward measures as how to develop the industrial competitiveness of Hebei's equipment industry, and gives several countermeasures and suggestions on how to improve the competitiveness of Hebei's equipment industry, which put its focus on human resources development, incentive mechanism of enterprises'technological innovation, industrial matching, the government policy.
