How The Snowball ERP Implementation Strategy Influence User Performance Based On Cognitive Load Theory

Enterprise Informatization which is a necessary construction plays an important role. The most important class of enterprise system named ERP systems. Its importance is widely accepted by business and academia. However most ERP implementation project hardly have good effect compared with the expected. Now many companis adopte a cautious attitude to choose step-by-step strategy for ERP implementation. ERP users'importance has been recognized.This article combined the snomball ERP implementation strategy and ERP users performance impacting, analyzing the relationship between strategy and performance impacting. This article selected cognitive load theory as the theoretical basis of this article, found how the snowball ERP implementation strategy influences ERP users performance through case study analysis and empirical analysis based on cognitive load theory.In the part of case study, we have a in-depth interviews with the two large domestic business information manager finding that the snomball ERP implementation strategy can largely reduce the users cognitive load, thereby producting a positive performance impact and made a theoretical model. In the part of empirical analysis, according to the existing research results and case study analysis, this paper establishes empirical model how the ERP implementation strategy affects the performance of ERP systems user. 84 valid questionnaires are collected from 3 enterprises investigation and structural equation model analysis is used to examine the research model.Overall, the research model shows most enterprises tend to adopt the snomball ERP implementation strategy at present. Through this strategy, enterprise ERP user obviously have better training effect and communication degrees, which eventually led to the performance of individual using ERP system improving, and the entire enterprise greatly ascends the ERP application level. Finally the paper gives conclusions and future research directions based on empirical research results, in order to give certain significant directive in the ERP implementation process.
