Xinjiang is a typical temperate continental arid climate zone. Because its unique climate and environment is very suitable for the growth of licorice, makes Xinjiang become the richest area of licorice in China. The licorice also has a high economic and ecological benefits which makes the licorice become the most valuable resources in Xinjiang. As one of the most important characteristics and advantages industries, licorice industry plays an important role in Xinjiang's economics. Accelerate the development of licorice industry in Xinjiang and continue to enhance its competitiveness will have an important role in promoting the development of Xinjiang region's economics. However, in recent years, for many reasons there are many problems in the licorice industry of Xinjiang, such as low industrial concentration, weak capability in technological innovation, low ability of growing, backward industrial management, low competitiveness and so on. The problems not only destroys the ecological environment of Xinjiang, but also hinders the economic development of Xinjiang. So, in order to propose appropriate measures to promote the development of licorice industrial in Xinjiang, we make the depth analysis of competitiveness and problems in licorice industry of Xinjiang. This is the current urgent subject and has the important practical and theoretical significance.The paper takes the object of Xinjiang licorice industry to study. The research mainly bases on the theory of comparative advantage theory and competitive advantage theory, comprehending related discipline theory knowledge, using the method of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis methods, constructs competitiveness evaluation index system of licorice industrial in Xinjiang and makes the system analysis for the competitiveness of licorice industry of Xinjiang. First, the author defines the purpose and significance of this study, constructs ideas and methods of this study, reviews the related theories of licorice industry Competitiveness, defines the definition of licorice industrial competitiveness of Xinjiang. Secondly, the author describes the situation of licorice industry in Xinjiang. By making the depth study of existing evaluation methods for industrial competitiveness, the author selects relevant indicators and constructs evaluation index system of Xinjiang's licorice industrial competitiveness. Then, the author makes an empirical analysis of Xinjiang's licorice industry competitiveness by using SPSS software and draws the relevant conclusions. Finally, the author promotes the suggestions for enhancing Xinjiang's licorice industrial competitiveness and rapid development of Xinjiang licorice industry.
