Research On Cotton Industry Chain In Xinjiang

Cotton industry is the leading force in accelerating Xinjiang Bingtuan (XPCC)'s economy development, the powerful safety measure to increase agricultural output and people's income. As the only long-staple cotton production base, Xinjiang Bingtuan has made a solid foundation for national textile industry development. As the largest high-quality commercial cotton production base in China, Xinjiang Bingtuan has also been playing the part of ensuring national cotton safety to some extent. However, for many years, because the cotton industry chain in Xinjiang Bingtuan is short, Bingtuan got some economic benefits by selling lint cotton as raw material to inland or coast provinces or cities. The resource advantage of owning cotton for Bingtuan is not changed into the competitive advantage in textile processing industry. At the same time the situation has reduced the added value of cotton products and blocked the effective promotion of cotton industry competition in Bingtuan.More and more practice proves that in order to effectively enhance international competition of agricultural products it is an efficient and successful strategy to better industry chain management. As the largest production base of high-quality commercial cotton in China, the competition it faces in cotton industry is also the competition our country faces, even for the world, in cotton industry chain. The thesis will take the Bingtuan cotton industry as the main subject and the related industry chain theory as guiding principles. Firstly the author of the thesis will analyze the current development situation of various cotton industry chain stages and its operating subjects. Then the advantages of this chain are summarized. Next with the analysis of problems occurring in the chain and the introduction of experiences of cotton industry abroad, it is the author's aim to propose measures and suggestion of bettering Bingtuan cotton industry chain form the perspective of Bingtuan's reality. The thesis is composed of seven chapters which mainly includes the following aspects:In the first chapter the content is about the topic choosing background, the research purpose and it aim. The author also does the literature review for cotton industry and industry chain and briefly talks about the research method, ways of doing research, technique routines and content. The author also states the creative and innovative aspects of this research and prospects. Chapter two is about the theoretic presentation and definition of some related concepts. Chapter three is the objective description and analysis of cotton industry chain in Bingtuan. Chapter four is about the brief analysis and summary of Bingtuan's cotton advantages. Chapter five is about the difficult situation faced by Bingtuan cotton industry chain from three aspects: cotton planting, preliminary processing and textile industry. Chapter six is the summary of advanced experiences of cotton industry chain management in the United States and Australian in order to give suggestions in Bingtuan cotton industry chain development. Chapter seven is the presentation of basic ways of thinking of Bingtuan cotton industry chain development and specific measures and suggestions about the chain with the increase of needed policy.
