| Core competence is the basis for an enterprise to possess sustainable competitive advantage and the magic weapon for it to seek long-term survival and sustainable development. Under the influence of economic globalization, especially after China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the market environment has changed dramatically and the market competition becomes more intense. If an enterprise seeks long-term survival and sustainable development in such a fierce market competition, a key factor is the core competence, whose strength determines the enterprise's position and destiny in the market competition. But so far, the majority of enterprises in our country have no abundant core competence, and they are facing the severe challenges from the transnational corporations with strong core competence, which requires our enterprises must develop and strengthen their own core competence.As an enterprise solely funded by the state, A Group exploits its unique competitive advantage and seizes the favorable circumstances under the complicated competitive environment and the huge development pressure; in 2010, it successfully achieved the objective that all the payment collection, business income and gross industrial output value reached ten billion RMB. In this paper, by applying such studying methods as SWOT analysis, value chain analysis, Delphi method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE), studying the development status of A Group and studying its features in such aspects as core management competence, core technological competence, core manufacturing competence and core marketing competence, the author aims to analyze, diagnose, summarize and refine the core competence of A Group. On this basis, the author applies the value chain analysis to diagnose the core competence of A Group, and then puts forward some measures and proposals for strengthening the core competence building, which are expected to provide strategy decision-making reference for the A decision-makers, be helpful to the establishment of its strategy management system and have some reference value for domestic enterprises to maintain and enhance their core competence. |
