Design And Development Of Learning Activity Management System Based On Windows Workflow Foundation

With the development of information technology and the popularity of E-learning, network is used in the field of education more and more widely. Web-based instruction supporting platform is the significant supporting environment of the online education, however, vast majority of web-based instruction supporting platforms in the market are content-oriented, which can not support the learning theory of constructivism. To compensate for the shortcomings of today's web-based instruction supporting platform, this study abandoned the traditional design architecture which put emphasis on learning contents, and designed and developed a learning activities management which lay emphasis on the design of learning activities and based Windows Workflow Foundation, providing good support for constructivism study.From the perspective of the learning activities, this study designed and developed a learning activity management system with functional integrity of the structure. Learning management system includes four main functional modules:system maintenance and management, activity sequences creation and management, activity sequences excution and activity sequences monitoring. System maintenance and management allows administrators to manage system users and roles; online learning activities design tool provided by the system allows designers to easily carry out the design of learning activities; learners can participate in learning activities according to the process defined by activity sequences; the system can automatically control the learner's learning process, and real-time monitoring learners'learning progress.This article firstly discussed the deficiencies and something can be referenced of today's main learning activity management system, then proposed the design of learning activities management system based on windows workflow foundation; Secondly, introduced an overview of the theoretical basis of the learning design and Microsoft workflow technology framework, and defined the related concepts; Thirdly, respectively, from the perspective of managers, designers, learners, and monitor, analysed system requirements analysis and proposed a final system design; Finally, illustrated main function module of the learning activities management system in details.
