With the constant expansion of power system, network structure is becoming more and more complex, and the operation mode of system will be more flexible, all those greatly increase the difficulty of system scheduling and operation. At present, dispatchers analyze the power transmission from change of operation modes always by their own experiences, so currency of the result cannot be proved. Therefore, in order to ensure security and stability of the system, we need one more in-depth analysis for the power flow. First, uses the method of power supply path analysis, this paper derives the power transfer relationship from power supply to load, the power supply path of each power source and the load transfer between different sections. Based the circuit theory, this method establishes the steady-state power transfer relationship of interface power flow, analyzes the intrinsic link between the interface power flow data and makes a detailed description of network power transfer process. So, it is an important basis for the theoretical research of network security analysis. Second, based on the component software developing technologies, visual studio2008development platform and Access database, this paper developed the software for the power flow tracing and analysis. This software makes a detailed description of the internal laws of power distribution and transfer in the network. So, it can help dispatchers recognize the inherent characteristics of the grid and grasp the changes of power supply path between different sections, provide the necessary reference and basis for the emergency dispatch. At the same time, this software provides a reliable analyzing and assisting tool for dispatchers and improves their ability to respond in the time of emergency. This software has good usability and scalability. With friendly interface and simple operation, it has been successfully applied in the actual power system.
