The Internet of Things is a new information technology revolution in the wake of computers, the Internet and mobile communication. Various countries have attached great importance to the research and development of the Internet of the Things, it has become one of the major focus of academia, the industry and the press. Currently, the Internet of Things applications in logistics and warehousing network is mainly relies on the EPC Network, It mainly including the physical layer which formed by the EPC, RFID tag, RFID reader; and Object Naming Service, ONS which used to find the address of EPC-IS (Information System),etc. EPC Discovery Service is to provide the EPC items dynamic information in the logistics chain to enterprises. There have been many kinds of EPC discovery service standards, but there are also many problems, such as the network load is unbalanced, the requires to construct a server is strict, the large maintenance cost and extremely dependent on the central server, etc. We expect to make full use of existing resources to solve these problems. This paper tries to solve these problems and do some systematic research, then design an unstructured discovery service based on extended ONS. The specific work is as follows:Firstly, research the key technologies and hierarchical structure of the Internet of Things, such as RFID technology, wireless sensor networks and network information security knowledge. In particular, we carried out a detailed study of the EPC network and its characteristics.Secondly, make a detailed study of the ONS system, especially the hierarchical structure and workflow. Through the study of the ONS system, we make a clear direction of improving the discovery service.Next, classify and summarize the existing discovery services, mainly divided into two major categories, centralized and distributed discovery services. Through the analysis of the distributed discovery service, to create the basis study of designing the unstructured discovery service based on the extended ONS. Finally, design the algorithm of unstructured discovery service based on the extended ONS, and tries to make some improvement of the existing discovery service method. Then we build the data model of this algorithm, and described the workflow of this kind of discovery service in detail. At last we testing the performance of this method discovery service in a simulated environment, and show the conclusion.To sum up, unstructured discovery service based on extended ONS has great value whether in theory or in application. The emphasis of our further research will be on the application in the process of construction of the EPC network to provide users with services, improve the efficiency of network and enhance the system robustness.
