This paper has discussed the design and study of the heating computation network system in cities. This design is based on the computer control can measure the relevant parameters of heating status, such as temperatures and flows, as well as the quantity of heat consumption and the cost that the user should offer. At the same time, this system can carry on monitoring and remote data communication. In this system, PC makes up the central operation station, and the software of this control system is developed by Visual Basic. This article introduces systematically the processes of the design of the computation instrument, as well as the constitution of the network system. We introduce the interface method about 8051 &8250,8250 & Modem and the implement of remote data communications and controls between PC and single-chip Microcomputer by Modem through telephone line, and make up the multiple single-chip communication networks by RS-485 Bus. The PC in this network system connects all stations respectively through dialing mode. The central single-chips process commands which the central operation system orders and administrates each computation instruments. Multiple single-chips collect data directly from the sensors and send these data to the central single-chip. And the central single-chip send these data to the PC by Modem through the telephone line, and thus the network system can realize the remote data communication and control functions.
