Pin Power Switch Developed

Microwave switch is an important microwave control circuit, which has the function of modulating signal, improving isolation, switching signal channel, etc. It is widely used in phased array radar,microwave communication, satellite communication, electronic-war, microwave measurement systems, etc. PIN power switch MMIC has the advantage of small size, low insertion loss and high power handling ability, so it has wide application foreground. Research method of the PIN SPST power switch MMIC and the SPDT power switch MMIC is given in the paper, as well as the detailed theory analysis and the test results.First, the actuality and development trend of microwave switch and the application environment of PIN power switch are discussed, also the main work of this paper. First, the basic theory of PIN diode , the structure of PIN switch and the design method of the power handling capability of the PIN switch are discussed in detail, and then a design process of a single-port absorptive PIN SPST power switch MMIC and a SPDT switch power switch with shunt PIN diode structure are discussed, the design of match network and bias network and the design process of the model layout are emphasized, also, power volume analysis and the material and manufacturing process are shown. at last, both the small signal test results and power test results of the two kinds of switches discussed above are given, The test results reach the design requirement, validate the design theory, and provide important references for design improvement in the future.and the theory analysis according to the test results are also given.
