Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) is the core of modern logistics technology, with the development of technology, a new manufacturing system which called Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) appeared. FMS closely integrated AS/RS and goods manufacturing process. It belongs to the cross field of logistics and manufacturing and has both the two technical features, which introduced new problems and challenges.This paper mainly researched automatic storage for FMS, including automatic storage efficiency analysis and design, the speed control and optimization of the stacker, stacker operation optimization scheduling problems, designed some functional module of the control terminal software. Finally applied the design and optimization algorithm to actual system, and complete the debugging. The main contents are as follows:(1) Analyzed the storage operation efficiency; based on the relationships between stacker the operating performance and storage parameters, obtained a general reference principle for the of design storage; designed the strategy of stacker speed control of single trip with different load and distance conditions.(2) Analyzed several working patterns of the automatic storage and the stacker operations; according to several different combination of stacker operations designed the algorithm based on scheduling rules to solve stacker scheduling problem, and completed the simulation and results analysis of the algorithm.(3) According to the specific characteristics of the FMS, designed the control terminal software framework, and with Visual C++ as the development platform, completes some function module design. Specific include:production task management and inventory management module in warehousing processing management part, manual function module and system monitoring module.(4) Based on the FMS platform, completed the functional modules of the actual debugging, the results show that the terminal software management module design is reasonable.
