In this article, the research object is the CNN (Cable News Net) news on 3.14 Tibet Riots during the time from 15Mar,2008 to31 Mar,2011.The main theories adopted in the research are framing analysis and critical discourse analysis. First of all, the article analysis the total report number to outline the reporting proportion and development, take "3.14 Tibet Riots" as an example. Then the author analysis the "issue frame" and its changes during the report circle, as well as "report frame" and its changes, respectively from the top-level view and the moderate-level.With the low-level view, Van Dijk's "Text demonstration construction" was adopted to analysis how CNN frames "3.14 Tibet Riots" in the terms of structure, key words and omission, and how CNN present the objective reality with the help of social reality. The findings show that the "issue frame" which is more changeable than "report frame" changed in the response of the China-American relationship and it attracts periodically attention in the media. CNN reports now still boast of a seemingly objective media due to rather objective reporting in the tools of presenting various resources to convey some view-points and explanation, so does the biased vocabulary choosing. So the complex image of Chinese government is arbitrary not democratic, highlighting ethic-union and culture-convergence but of more problems. In the last part of the research, the author tried to expose the underlying causes for the nonobjective reporting in western mainstream media and listed the suggestion on media strategies based on western and Chinese mainstream media's reporting strategies.
