Wireless sensor networks often operate in unattended and insecure environments. Therefore itis important that security concerns should be addressed. However, due to sensor node resource andcomputing constraint, security in wireless sensor networks poses different challenges thantraditional network security. In this thesis one security solution is proposed based on a hierarchicalrouting in wireless sensor network. At the stage of network initialization, this solution helps makeup clusters efficiently and finish the distribution of keys which have been established; at the stage ofdata transmission, this solution establishes a secure transmission channel, in order to prevent anattacker from capturing sensor nodes and then attacking the existing network, for instance, listening ,intercepting, modifying data and DoS(Denial of Service); To reduce the sources ofattack, a lightweight security solution key agreement and authentication is employed that is basedon the RC5(Ron's Code 5), which enables semantic security. In order to prevent Sybil attack, thissolution adopts a complete echo-back cluster certification mode. Periodic replacement of the globalkey mechanism is used to effectively reduce risks that the intruders may obtain access to the globalkey and ensure the transmission of data confidentiality, integrity and timeliness. Finally, experiments are simulated by using NS2 simulation, and the impact of various attacks is evaluated.
