This paper mainly discussed and researched the localization technology of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). First of all, the sensor node and positioning techniques for WSN are summarized based on the study of a lot of related literatures.This paper focused on DV-Hop algorithm and Centroid algorithm which are based on Range-free localization algorithm of WSN. According to MATLAB simulation results, we discussed the influence of the density of beacon nodes and the density of nodes on positioning accuracy. Experiments showed that the positioning error reduced with the increase of beacon nodes density.Then, based on DV-Hop algorithm, Centroid algorithm and Mass-spring optimization, DCMs hybrid location algorithm for WSN was proposed in this paper. This thesis described the basic principle of this algorithm, and theoretically proved the convergence of the algorithm. MATLAB simulation result showed that the error of DCMs algorithm was less than DV-Hop. Meanwhile it did not need additional hardware to accomplish the hybrid algorithm, and the positioning performance was improved effectively.In order to verify the hybrid algorithm, the WSN localization system was designed based on the ZigBee protocol. It was a low power consumption system. The core of hardware platform was CC2430 which integrated 51MCU and RF. The hardware circuit was designed by using the software Candence. The thesis utilized a concentrated wireless sensor networks location system to accomplish the software. The exploitation of node communication program was based on the ZigBee protocol stack and the achievement ways of different kinds of nodes were described in details. Meanwhile, written the application program of DCMs localization algorithm. In VS2008 circumstance, the PC monitor software was been designed used C# which could show the localization results in time.In the end, practical test was implemented. This test solution got a good localization performance based on the hybrid algorithm. This system could reduce not only the requirements of hardware but also the cost. Experiment results showed that the positioning system is feasible basically.
