Video on demand is the main business of interactive TV, Digital TV Conversion and cable TV networks throughout the two-way transformation prepares the basic conditions for cable operators to provide video on demand service. Operators across the country have started construction or planning platform for interactive TV services. In order to get rid of restrictions of operators by an interactive TV vendor, a video server, back office systems, IP-QAM, application servers and other products of different manufacturers are generally purchased. Each product has an own monitoring system, but there is no unified monitoring system. There is no uniform system problem for interactive TV monitoring system, the solution is to design a unified set of interactive TV monitoring system.In the paper, first, the interactive TV system is analyzed detailed, through in-depth analysis of STB's demand; we know that as long as demand shows the success of on-demand, system is working properly. Thus, the process of using computer simulates STB's on demand to determine running situation of the back office system, video server system, IP-QAM. As long as signaling interaction process is normal, the system is normal. Secondly, Connecting the corresponding port of the portal server, database server and an FTP server and other servers through the Connect function is up to determine whether the service runs normally. Then, determine the interactive TV system network running situation by the Ping function. Finally, if the interactive TV system is not working properly, and interactive TV operators and integrators are informed through the SMS alarm notification timely. Monitoring System take advantage of VC++6.0 development tools, access 2003 database, using ADO, Socket and multi-threaded programming techniques achieves TV monitoring system. For the choice of development tools, taking into account the GSM MODEM device driver implementation of VC++6.0, so the development tool uses VC++6.0. Monitoring program need access the database, because the amount of data is small and monitoring log writes a log file, it uses ACCESS DB. Using the ADO technology of easy realization operates ACCESS DB.The system is divided into modules:module of computer simulating STB RTSP on-demand, module of connect, module of Ping and module of SMS alarm. Systems are tested on each module, then a comprehensive test is carried out, the test result is good. In order to avoid restarting the monitoring program manually after restarting the machine, the program is packaged into a service program, so the monitor program can automatically restart when restart the machine. The monitoring system is tested in a radio and TV operators, it has good results. It is a great help for System operators and integrators to detect faults and solute problems, and avoids the problem of the discovering faults after receiving a complaint and cost is saved for operators.
