Ground-clutter suppression is a topic of practical interest in the application of Ground-based Reconnaissance radar. Clutter suppression processing must be done to suppress noise and improve SNR, in order to improve target detection and accurate extraction of target parameters. This paper studies signal processing of clutter suppression and target detection for the Ground-based Reconnaissance radar. The first step is to study the ground clutter characteristics, analysis the Statistical model of radar clutter, such as Weibull and Rayleigh model. The relevant Weibull clutter should be generated by ZMNL method. Analysis performance of the MTI filter during suppression of clutter with Gaussian power spectrum. MTD signal processing method, its narrow-band filters design and performance improving by the window function weighting would be studied. Finally, as to enhance the target detection performance in clutter spectrum, I propose a new method for target detection, named Doppler Clutter Map detection method based on Clutter Map. Doppler Clutter Map is created with the clutter spectrum of received signal in the same range azimuth cell. The new method combines the advantage of Frequency-domain CFAR detector, and promotes the CFAR performance of target detector.
