Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, the technology of satellite communications develops rapidly. The demand of satellite communications business is growing. The requirements of communication system have become increasingly improving. Because of the complex composition and the higher operating technical requirements, existing satellite communication system is inconveninent for people's daily use. With the applications of embedded technology be more widely, the degree of system integration is deeper and the communication system's composition is more streamline. Therefore, developing a satellite communication earth station system based on embedded technology becomes an issue which needs to be resolved urgently.This paper describes an ARM-based earth station system for satellite communication. It uses the ARM chip as the core of hardware circuits of this system,realize the acquisition of the sensors'data and the control of the motors. The software of control system was programmed by arm-linux cross compiler in linux OS. Eventually, the ARM-based earth station can search and track satellites.At present, this system has been completed, upgrading existing earth station for satellite communication. The innovation of this system is using scalability of ARM to integrate some professional equipment. It streamlines the volume of the system and facilitate the software's transplant. At the same time we turn the C/S structure into B/S mode, a more user-friendly structure, enhancing remote maneuverability. And we also designed a visual man-machine interactive interface, greatly simplify the operation.
