During the 1990s, computer technology, communication technology and integrated circuit technology rapid development, and mutual fusion, leading to the embedded technology and applications of production and rapid development, China to global including the industry, agriculture, science and technology, education, culture and other military, a far-reaching impact on field, also powerful promotes the globalization and informatization. At present, the embedded technology has become the core areas of development of information industry of the national economy and defence safety has people's daily life, work and study are playing an increasingly important role.Embedded operating system in the whole embedded systems have very important role, operating system existence thoroughly changed the embedded development mode, speeding up the development speed. Linux system as open-source operating system, is born for embedded system has many advantages. Free to decrease kernel, modular structure, stable compact, easy to cut to the characteristics of limited resources, embedded system is very important characteristics. Linux is free software, anyone can follow the GPL standard cases obtained gratis source code, and can be arbitrary modify, publish, so embedded Linux cost is almost zero. In addition, Linux properties for its excellent network has won numerous network function the favour of embedded products.As a practical professional technology, the design and development of embedded system not only requires very solid theoretical knowledge foundation , and also put forward some high requirements for practical capability.This topic is using S3C2440 processor, carrying embedded Linux system, research embedded development and application. The main research has the following contents: Embedded Linux hardware system and software development environment design, research S3C2400 hardware platform processor and Linux platform construction,design structures embedded development platform;Bootloader design, research and analysis Bootloader guide and loading Linux kernel, and equipped with a Bootloader schemes compiler and burning;Linux kernel configuration,analysis of Linux kernel, on this basis, the demand for the kernel according to oneself the kernel configuration; Linux device driver development. Analysis under Linux system, then the device driver development based on the written USB driver design; Embedded Linux graphical interface research and application. Study analyzed the graphical interface GUI, compile Qt application, design UDP transmission interface.
