Methanol distillation is a very important process in industrial methanol production, methanol distillation column is the most essential distillation equipment, which is a multi-input multi-output and multi-variable process, while the material of distillation is the final product of the whole process or raw material as the next section input, therefore, the methanol distillation column control technology play a crucial role in energy consumption, improve product competitiveness and economic efficiency of enterprises.The background of the essay is the process of methanol distillation section in the project. Analyzing the effect of methanol distillation process parameters, selecting the Prerun column in the three columns of methanol distillation as the controlled column, there are four parts in Prerun column control strategy, namely the flow ratio control, pressure control, level control and heat duty control, the control strategy detailed analysis of the control object, control theory and the use of complex control. According to the characteristics of the dual heat exchanger as distillation column bottom reboiler, the corresponding control strategy in the use of heat duty control in the reboiler heat control, besides, select control is used in level control of the reflux tank and the level of Prerun column bottom.The strategy simulated in use of the commercial software Aspen Plus which is generally applied in chemical control program design and dynamic simulation, the process parameters are from the project files in the project, referring to the size of the distillation column in the project and static parameters of the Prerun column to build Aspen Plus model of methanol distillation column, testing the feasibility and effectiveness of control designing, the product quality can meet the requirements of industrial production in the face of conventional perturbation changes the flow and composition of material. At last, according to the designed Prerun distillation column control strategy and the process conditions from the project, designing project engineering documents PID, index table and instrument specifications, taking the typical instrument for example and designing instrument specification, which has practical significance.
