3G is currently strong momentum of development, but to the popularity of mobile users, there is still a long distance. GSM provides a relatively mature voice and low rate data services in the market to occupy a larger share of any, so good communication to protect the quality of GSM necessary.GSM is an interference-limited system, with the rapid economic development, network expansion, shrinking distance between the base station, a higher level of frequency reuse, the network carrier to interference ratio is reduced, degradation of voice quality and also limits the system capacity increases. thus the power control, can greatly improve overall network interference level, improve network quality. In this paper, GSM power control techniques and implementation undertook study, the main work are summarized as follows:First briefly introduces the GSM system overview, mainly from the network structure, frame structure and the system advantages and disadvantages and so on several aspects to elaborate the characteristic of GSM system. The second chapter introduces the basic concepts and the purpose of power control, power control with power control standards on the principle and method of analysis. Baconian on this foundation the influence factors for power control, power control algorithm design and Implementation for provide the basis. The third chapter describes in the power control process comprises the steps of wireless link measurement, measurement report pretreatment, power control decision and power control implementation of this part and downlink power control algorithm flow chart.Secondly, the research focus in addition to the study of power control technology in the process, according to the GSM power control technique is proposed for the uplink and downlink power static control, dynamic power control and dynamic power control step adjustment strategy several alternatives, and the analysis and comparison of several schemes, finally obtained a more optimized solution. The program run on the VxWorks operating platform, and divided into a plurality of modules finally complete upper and lower power control software.
