Image processing system based on PC platform is bulky, and does not have the portability, restricted in their mobile communications, portable devices and other fields. At present, image processing platform depended on embedded chips, multi-use microcontrollers, digital signal processor (DSP) or FPGA, face on the underlying hardware, and have higher development costs; otherwise, threre are embedded Linux operating system based on the ARM platform for image processing, but still need to develop drivers for hardware. This paper committed to develope an embedded image processing platform with small size, low power consumption, and easy programming. And proposed based on ARM processors (S3C2440) hardware solutions, and on this hardware platform, porting open-source linux embedded google operating system Android platform, based on this platform for embedded image processing algorithms. This implementation reduces the cost of hardware and software system development, improve the efficiency of image processing algorithm development.First, a lot of research, based on the research work described in this paper the significance of embedded ARM chip processing systems, embedded image processing systems development status.Then, the analysis of the functional requirements of embedded image platform to build the embedded image processing platform, including: the design of embedded hardware, embedded system software design and Android-based image processing application algorithm design. Hardware platform for circuit design and implementation, including hardware architecture design and implementation of such a key part of the circuit. This hardware platform, the transplant was successful Android operating system, embedded images to build a platform for the development of software systems.Finally, build an embedded platform, combined with the characteristics of embedded systems, developed a fast image processing algorithms embedded image processing software to complete the image acquisition and processing functions, and conduct experiments to validate this approach.
