The 1780mm hot strip mill coiler control system of Ningbo IRON&STEEL CO.LTD. was designed by the Beijing TianZhiJinZheng intelligent control designs company and officially put into production at the end of 2008. Now it is running well and effectively. The production line is able to complete the continuous casting billet heating, rough rolling, laminar cooling, coiling and transportation processes of continuous movement, producing a standard thickness of 1.2~19 mm, width 950~1630 mm hot-rolled plate volume, Maximum roll weight to 32 tons.In this paper, the automatic control system on the coiler of hot rolling which the authors is responsible for in the project is the research object. It includes the network architecture of the system, software and hardware, programming, the simulation of coiling electro-hydraulic servo system with MATLAB and other aspects of the detail. The electric programmable controllers are siemens TDC systems. The TDC programming software is a CFC. The PROFIBUS-DP network configuration software is COM PROFIBUS software, and simulation the coiling electro-hydraulic servo system with the Simulink component of MATLAB.In the study of the design process, a large number of relevant theory and practice of literature are referred to according to the system's functional requirements. On this basis, taking plant and equipment into consideration, we constitute the system's hardware platform. The design of the rational network layout takes the network communication speed and reliability into account. According to the actual space and the information provided by mechanical and hydraulic equipment manufacturers, we design the number and scope of the control system remote stations (IO points), and then design the specific configuration of the remote IO stations according to the controlled equipment and the types of signals of the testing devices.And then, build the test platform under laboratory conditions, in order to test the feasibility of the programs. The last step is computer programming. The on-site implementation of the results shows that the design of the coiler control system is running well.This paper is mainly to solve the following key technical issues:the coiler machine sequence logic control, the transition of the three winding machine's work state, hydraulic position control and the hydraulic pressure control. This design of the logic control procedures, multiple devices can accurately complete the coordinated action, it is also not difficult to read, and debugging and maintaining will be easy. In this paper, we not only give the control program of the 1st and the 2nd take-up machine, but also design to control some of its equipment, the corresponding right to control switches when the work state of the three coiler device changes. In the hydraulic position control:we design a proportional control system with zero-bias regulator and it greatly improves the control accuracy and simple structure and makes the programming easier. Exact algorithm of the wrapper rolls gap is established to help roll seam exact algorithm to achieve a precise control of it. What is more, The paper design a debugging method to square one key parameters of roll gap set-up process, debugging results show that:the whole system reaction speed fully meet the actual requirements.
