Management of Information system (MIS) of the petroleum pipe facility is a supporting system which provides efficient data collection tools and information management of pipe programming, prospective designing, construction and operation management. With the technology of GIS and Distributed Computing, the petroleum pipe lines and station yards are under visualized management and the management efficiency of the petroleum pipe line information is increased. It is advantageous to the appropriate decision making of the maintenance, management and design of the petroleum pipe line.The subject of investigation of this paper is the petroleum pipe facility MIS. Based on the research of relative theories, key technologies and requirement analyses, it investigates the function design, data storage models and ArcEngine component development of the petroleum pipe facility MIS. The main contents of this paper are as follow:1. It investigates the function design of the petroleum pipe facility MIS and designs the function modular structure of relative data, function requirements of the petroleum pipe facility and the information system.2. It analyzes the features of relative data of the petroleum pipe facility and their relationship and formulates the complete logical model of data storage on basis of the research of UML. Provided by the functions of the model constructing software, the physical composition on basis of the data base was auto generated.3. It investigates ArcEngine for the realization of the prototype of the management function of the petroleum pipe facility and implementes the main functions of the website by using the distributed technology of RemObject.
