A cellphone is considered to be a small computer. Though its capability of solving problems is limited compared to a PC, running a small game is enouth. Meanwhile, they are network computers which can transmit and receive digital data at a high speed. Besides of audio data, they can also transmit and receive other types of data. So network games will run on cellphones soon in the future as they now do on a PC.Jave 2 Micro Edition (J2ME or K-JAVA) is a Java language for small equipment such as cellphones and PDAs. Most cellphone manufacturers hope eagerly that Java cellphone will be popularized. Though J2ME is greatly limited compared to Java in PC, it has greatly increased cellphone's capability of supporting games. The GUI is controlled more easily in J2ME than in SMS and WAP. Dynamic graphic pictures are allowed to use and J2ME cellphones can connect to the remote server by wireless network.J2ME is used to design a cellphone game online system in this paper, to implement a cellphone card game of real time,high efficiency and multi-user. This system has corresponding functions such as user management and sorting. It will realize the value-added service of the cellphone subscribers.Users can log on to the sever by GPRS cellphone network. They can login or log onto the system,sort users and download corresponding client program. After the client program is installed on the cellphone, a user can start the game,connect to the server and play game with other users.This paper starts from the background of Java cellphone games. It introduces the development of Java cellphone games and the trend of industry home and abroad. Then it introduces the system model on the whole and then describes each function modules in detail, include the user management subsystem, game processing subsystem, client subsystem, communication module and the database.The emphasis lies in the introduction of client subsystem design and implement. First, it introduces the whole structure of client system briefly, then it analyses and illuminates the user interface class, game control class, communication class and XML class in detail, with some methods and programs.The last part of this paper is a summarization of this design and expectation on research work in future.
