Power amplifier plays critical role in wireless communication system. Currently, it's quietly hot to research and design power amplifier with high linearity, high frequency, high efficiency and broad band. Several plans and technologies gotten from the research are widely used in the whole communication system.This subject aims at designing a 30MHz-512MHz broadband high-power amplifier. But it seems not easy to finish the task because of this power amplifier own requirements including high output power, broad working frequency band. Due to the complexity involved, theoretically several solutions are derived in the final scheme such as broadband matching technology, negative feedback, power-retreat and automatic power control. Finally, we make it and our requirements are met.The basic principle of power amplifier is firstly introduced. This part focuses on broadband matching technology, especially the principle and application of transmission line transformer. Then, the design of power amplifier and the problems appearing in design and their solutions is presented. In the last part of this subject, the testing of power amplifier is described and the final testing result is listed.
