With the arrival of the 21st century, China is facing the issue of an aging society, thus caring for old people and improving their quality of life is of great significance for society. Mobile phones designed for elders, as a special kind in the market, are taking the irreplacable effect in old people's daily life. The development of such designs is not only for the purpose of economic rewards, but for easing the pressure of social trends that this aging society brings, and promoting social development and solidarity by providing convenient helps. The development of such mobile phones reflects the industrial importance with the human-oriented principle. This includes paying special attention to the dignity of people. People are in the most important position with due respect, care for them. Besides, it also shows concern for vulnerable groups in meeting people's reasonable needs.At present, China's mobile phone for old people is still in its beginning stage. Human-oriented principle means to design according to elderly people's need. Right now, many mobile phone for elders have a lot of functions, complex operation ways and interpersonal interaction interfaces, resulting in the incompetence for the old people to use. In order to design for the old people's needs, this paper fully tapped and expounds the connotation of human-oriented design concept, and a systematic analysis of the old people's physiological, psychological characteristics, consumer behavior is carried out, then basing on the design principle of simplicity and appropriateness for the cell phone, the according design suggestions are analyzed and put forward in it, taking factors like functions, outlooks, colors, man-machine interface and so on into consideration.
