"life" Magazine Readers Mailbox Study

LIFE WEEKLY was started in October 11, 1925 by Yanpei Huang in Shanghai, which was related publications of Chinese National Association of Vocational Education and its chief editor was Zhishen Wang. In October 24, 1926, the editor of LIFE WEEKLY was replaced by Taofen Zou since the first issue of Volume II, and opened"Reader Mailbox"column to help readers to deal with the problems about lives and spirit.This article is mainly analyzed the"Read Mailbox"column of LIFE WEEKLY as an independent object of study, then, to see the problems readers have about marriage, education, life and society in 1930s China social environment.; Meanwhile, the feedbacks from Taofen had reflected his opinions and attitudes as well.For the research of"Read Mailbox", writer made the boundary with the September 18 Incident, and segmented the content in time. Before the September 18 Incident, the content of Reader Mailbox was rich in normal condition, and all kinds of mails were both involved, and feedbacks from Taofen had color of enlightenment and cultivation; After the September 18 Incident, because of the changed social environment, the content of Reader Mailbox was changed from the rich themes to the only problem of Resisting Japan, and it did not focus enlightenment and cultivation any longer, but its militancy would be strengthened.In addition, the research of"Reader Mailbox"can preferably summarize that Reader Mailbox has succeed at solution of relationship between editor and reader. This precious experience of interaction is still meaningful for editors in the present.
