This thesis focused on a subculture group named Doll fans. As a specific, the online forum named Doll BBS was researched by using text analysis and ethnographic research methods. Doll Fans developed as a community in the network. This group was constructed with media to ensure the identity of each other. During the process, it showed that the power also existed in the virtual community.The first chapter introduced the basic situation of the research object and collated the results of the domestic and foreign research about subcultures. The methodology and significance of this study were included in this part. The second chapter talked about how did the Doll Fans to construct self-identity and community identity in the network. Beginning with the power relations, the third chapter explained the relationship between technical people and ordinary participants. Beside, the influence from leader to normal people was discussed in this chapter. The fourth chapter paid attention to the relationship between commercial society and Doll Fans. Focusing on the characteristics of business about this niche market, this thesis ensured the effects on creativity of Doll Fans from business. The final part reviewed and summarized the research. In addition, recommendation was given to further research in order to continue this project deeply.
