Non-contact IC card has become a mainstream of user identification because of its convenience and good cost-effect. Second-generation ID card, as a kind of RF card, has all the advantages of the RF card. Meanwhile, due to using of digital technology and printing security anti-counterfeiting technology, safety and security have been very much improved. Therefore, the thesis uses integrated network module MCF52233 microcontroller, introduced by Freescale, as basic module and takes advantage of radio frequency to get serial number from second-generation ID card, achieving record attendance and intelligent management. The system has two modes which are offline mode and online mode.The thesis first introduces relates knowledge of radio frequency identification technology, Ethernet, USB and others, and then gives the overall design of attendance. The thesis describes the design from the hardware overview and software design overview. Hardware design includes chip selection, each hardware module design and implementation; software design includes the MCU side-side management software and PC software design. MCU software design includes drivers and application design. PC side software achieves attendance credit card information and personnel information in the database operation functions. Finally, based on the former hardware and software development work, we set up and complete the system, and then conduct system testing. The final system can achieve attendance using a second-generation ID card.
