Currently, high-speed railway construction is in full swing in China. For a train of such a high speed, the vital task is to ensure the safety operation. Without a rounded high-speed railway safety monitoring system, manual site survey is still the dominant portion in domestic industry so far. In this paper, analyses of the effects of the track temperature, strong wind, stress tunnels, and bridges settlement of the high-speed railway environment are provided. Sensor modules are set to collect field data for farther analysis. The potential dangers detected take roles to prevent the accidents. The entire system of communication architecture is based on wireless sensor networks of the ZigBee protocol. Embedded module is responsible for site field data collection, which is the equivalent of sensor nodes. Communication to local cluster node is made through CC2420 radio chip and antenna after the data is collected. The cluster node is responsible for sending and receiving the data. Remote communication between high-speed safety monitoring center railway and cluster node is transferred via 3G wireless network to achieve information transfer. On-site data collected by control center will be real-time analyzed. This topic helps to build a high-speed railway safety monitoring system of higher quality in automation, real-time and accuracy. The system includes embedded modules using solar power, ST's STM32F103ZE microcontroller processor, and FSMC with external expansion of 16-bit data bus of SRAM for a relatively high conversion rate for the storage of collected field information. SDIO modules with external SDHC card, SPI bus with CC2420 external RF chip and digital input and output interface are also applied to the system. RS232 serial interface is included as well. The software based on MDK, uses ST's STM32 V3.4 firmware library incorporating all of the STM32F103ZE underlying operating functions. This paper describes the architecture of the library and the use of specific methods. This subject introduces a respectable framework of the library.
