There is no doubt that mobile phone has played an important role in people's daily lives. Recently, the mainstream mobile phones appeared in the domestic market are Apple with iOS platform, phones which support the Android operating platform, and phones with the newly Windows Phone7 system. Through the status analysis of these three major platforms of the smartphones, as well as the comprehensive research and study of the innovative use of gestures in current human‐phone interaction, the author believes that gesture design plays a very important role in mobile phone interaction design. In daily life, users in other media have begun to experience a variety of novel ways in gesture interaction, who can use the trajectory of the mouse and cursor on the page to simulate gestures, use the fruitful gestures in physical hardware or on the touch screen and even the primarily remote motion sensing gesture operation has appeared. These more innovative interaction modes have greatly attracted the attention of users and have improved user experience. After that, we found that the interactive mode of phone has not kept up with the developmental pace of digital media. In the process of using smartphones, the author found that there are still some serious problems in the current use of gestures in mobile phone interaction: reduction of accuracy, the lack of visibility and consistency, increase in operating costs and misoperation, lack of physical mechanics feedback and subject to physical factors. Finally, through a wide range of systematical analysis and research in the human gestures in real life, the author has proposed some ideas on how to better use gesture design in a mobile phone in the hope that it will be of enlightenment for students who are going to be engaged in product design, interaction design and interface design.
